This past week the 1:10 Electric Offroad World Championships were held in Xiamen, China. The track being very different from the typical 1:10 tracks in America, it was very large, high speed, bumpy and high grip, this made it a challenge to get around with such small cars. EOS2WDPodium

This past weekend we traveled to Warsaw, Poland for Round 1 of the 2017/18 EOS series.

The surface was different from anything I had ever run on before, the track was challenging but fun. We had spent a couple days practicing at the HUDY arena with the team and got my cars on pace but getting used to the driving style was the most difficult part, it was a great learning experience overall. SikcrossPodium

This past weekend I raced the SiKcross Race in Southern California at the Pro-Line Test Track. This race is put on by Levi Jackson with SiK Track Designs. The format is different than the standard IFMAR qualifying, it is setup more like motocross with heads up gate starts, so every qualifier you raced against the people in your heat. There were 2 heats of expert, qualifying was determined by points and you would get a 1 for winning your qualifier and the laps and time would determine who TQ’d out of the 2 winners and so on. Although this type of qualifying can sometimes be frustrating and difficult, I found it to be a lot more fun and exciting.

The Buck Shot debuted at the 2017 ROAR National Championships and is already a Winner at the hands Pro-Line Team Driver Ty Tessmann! The Buck Shot has pins that are very close in size to the amazing Hole Shot 2.0, but the Buck Shot pins are stacked closer together side to side, which provides significantly longer lasting performance.

INS2017Podium

This past weekend I attended the J Concepts Indoor National Series race held at Hobby Action RC in Chandler, AZ. The temperatures outside were hovering around 115 degrees but inside with the air conditioning it was comfortable.

We arrived at the track on Thursday for practice and the first impression was that the layout didn’t look very challenging, but when I ran on it the first time I was pleasantly surprised that it was much more challenging than I had thought and it was hard to get clean laps consistently for 5-minutes, which in my opinion was a good thing, I prefer to run on a challenging track rather than one that is too easy.

NatsTrophy2

This past weekend we traveled to Stateline RC Raceway to attend the ROAR Fuel Offroad Nationals. The facility is awesome and the track owners went above and beyond to make sure everyone had everything they needed and more, and got the track ready to run again after the rain came.

TyPodiumManCup

This past weekend we attended the first ever Amain Manufacturers World Cup held at the famous Silver Dollar Raceway in Chico, CA.  The race for the Pro Class was a Reedy Race format, there were four 14 minute heads up races for each of the three pro classes with 1 throw out in each class.  There was also a team challenge where they took the 2 top finishers in the pro class and the 2 top finishers in the open class for each manufacturer and combined them to determine the winning manufacturer.

The track was high speed with a lot of big air jumps which made for some good racing and it was a lot of fun to drive on.

Had a great weekend in the Philippines, the people were awesome and treated us like royalty, and we can’t thank them enough for the hospitality. It was a great event and if you are thinking of going you won’t be disappointed.
This was the first time running the XRay cars on super high grip and it took us a bit of time to get the setup right but it all came together in the end.

I was able to take the win in both Buggy and Truggy. Running Pro-Line X2 Blockades

Ty_NEO_Podium

This past weekend I race at the NEO race in Newport, UK.  The track was very different this year from previous years, as far as layout and surface.  The track was faster with bigger jumps than ever before.  The surface was drier and more abrasive than it had been in the past as well. Being that this was the first NEO race for us with the Xray car we started with the setups that we have been running in the US.  Which was not bad but not on pace with the fastest drivers,  we struggled with setup throughout practice and qualifying but worked together with the team and by the 4th qualifier we had found pace.
