Last weekend I attended the Texas State RC Pro Series round 1. In E-buggy I TQ’d and finished 3rd overall, and in Nitro Buggy I qualified 8th and broke in the main. I ran M4 Recoils on E-buggy and M4 Hole Shots on Nitro.

A few weeks ago I also attended the January Jam in Flowood, MS., where I finished 2nd in E-buggy on M3 Suburbs and 2nd in Nitro Buggy on M3 Blockades.

With a surprising 141 entries in 7 classes, it was a long but very successful day of racing that lasted all day. At the end of the day, TLR/Pro-Line Driver Dakotah Phend walked away with the win in the premier Nitro Buggy class, with AMS Raceway’s owner Mike Sontag in second and Tony Carnes of M2C Racing rounding off the podium in 3rd. Dakotah used Pro-Line M4 Recoils in Buggy to take the win.

Round #2 of the Snowman Series was this past weekend at ARC Raceway. The event had 10 heats. TLR, Nova Rossi, Pro-Line driver Adam Drake tq’ed both rounds of qualifying in the 1/8th Pro Buggy class in front of teammate’s Drew Moller and Colby Poh. Drew Moller tq’ed the 1/8th Pro turck class. In the 30 minute buggy final, Adam Drake won using the new Tazer M4 tires followed by teammates Cody Smith and Colby Poh. Making it a 1,2,3 sweep for TLR, Nova Rossi, and Pro-Line. Drew Moller won the 20 minute truck final on his Pro-Line Holeshot M4 Tires followed by TLR teammate Andy Carillo in 2nd. Cody Smith won the 10 minute 1/8 th electric final with his TLR 8ight E outfitted with Pro-Line Holeshot M4 .

I had one TQ round in buggy and was on another one until I lost a rear spring retainer. ;(

In truck I had one TQ run going until my new motor broke in during the race and the idle dropped, causing it to die in the corners.

In Buggy I used M3 Blockades for the main and M3 Holeshots for qualifying. Along with Bulldog Body

In the truck final, Drake lead from start to finish and took the win followed by TLR teammates Drew Moller in second and Cody Smith in third.

The Reedy International Race of Champions came to an exciting conclusion with the top 3 (Ryan Cavalieri, Jorn Neumann and Ryan Maifield) in the same final race to determine the champion.  Maifield and Neumann started on the front of the grid while Cavalieri had to start from the back.  At the sound of the tone Maifield and Neumann shot to the front and had a fierce battle the entire race.  Maifield was in the lead until he made a small mistake allowing Neumann to go by.  Cavalieri pushed as hard as he could and passed 2 cars on the last corner of the race to finish 3rd.  The win by Neumann gave him the overall by 1 point over Pro-Line’s Ryan Cavalieri who fought hard to the very end.

Pro-Line’s MC Suburb tires and closed cell foams were used on every car throughout the weekend and performed perfectly.  One set lasted the entire weekend and provided incredible traction.  The 2012 Reedy Race was an incredible success and Pro-Line was happy to support such a great event.  Congratulations to Jorn Neumann on the win and to Ryan Cavalieri for taking a very close Second.

The most exciting race of the day had to be the battle between Cav and Hara in 4wd Round 6.  Hara took the early lead closely followed by Ryan and they played cat and mouse the whole race until the second to last lap when Cav made his move and took over the lead.  But on the last lap Cav’s car seemed to slow slightly, possibly because of a loose or slipper, causing Cav to come up short on the triple and lose speed down the straightaway.  Hara squeaked by Cavalieri at the line ending the most exciting race of the day.

The open division finished up qualifying today with Frank Root securing the top honors in 2wd and Josh Numan the TQ in 4wd.  Look for Pro-Line team driver Chris Jarosz to battle for the win in 2wd after qualifying in 7th.  In 4wd Pro-Line is represented by JQ sitting in 2nd and Nick Lasley in 5th.

As for me, my Reedy Race ended in exciting fashion.  They ran the Open Class lower Main Events today, which meant I had some work to do after my frustrating qualifying effort.  Due to several different problems with my 4wd, I never finished a single qualifying run putting me dead last heading into the main.  I was the first 4wd main event -Race 3- and my 2wd main was Race 4, so I knew I already had to do back-to-back 10 minute mains.  My first 4wd main went really well, putting a lap on the entire field and taking the win to bump me up to the next main in Race 5.  Right after taking the win, I ran over to my pit to put my 4wd on the charger and ran back to the track to slam my 2wd down.  This race went well too as I worked my way to 3rd place and battled for the transfer position on the last lap.  I made a bold inside move in the bowl turn before the triple but bobbled the landing and so missed out on the bump up.

Next up was Race 5 my bump up 4wd race where I had another great run.  Starting from the last row on the grid, I worked my up to the lead after about 10 laps.  After a few mistakes, I lost the lead but was able to hold on to 2nd for another bump up!!  That put me in Race 7 for another 10 minute main event.  This race started off great for me as well as I moved into 3rd place at the end of the first lap after starting from dead last.  I started to make time on the leaders and felt I had a shot to bump up again when I made a mistake through the mogul section and broke a ball cup, ending my Reedy Race.  All in all, that was close 40 minutes of main event racing in less than an hour putting a major strain on my nerves!  Special thanks to Charlie at Novak and Daniel Adams for setting up my system and Scotty Ernst for cheering me on!
