This is the new Pro-Line Sniper SC for Slash, Slash 4×4, Slayer, SC10 & Blitz. Using the World Champion design philosophy and technology from the Hole Shot, the Sniper SC is scaled up to work on looser and dustier track conditions.
After initial testing, Pro-Line team drivers Ryan Cavalieri and Travis Amezcua say:
“The Pro-Line Sniper SC offers awesome forward traction and side bite on a variety of track conditions. The bigger pins also provide longer wear, giving you lasting traction through long A-mains. “
When you’re ready to leave your competition in the dirt…
Give it up for Chad Kimbirk and his ProTrac Slash.
Wow……went to Thunder Alley last night to do a little SC racing with Matt from Pro-Line and witnessed a stellar performance from Chad Kimbirk with a ProTrac/PowerStroke outfitted 2WD Slash. It was a typical night with 2 heats of 2WD SC Mod loaded with all the latest brands of high performance SC trucks. At first, I thought it was an SC10 leading the final A-main of the night due to the AE body. I later noticed the signature ground clearance beneath the truck and realized that we had a Pro-Line outfitted Slash setting the pace and taking the win.
The 2010 Surf City Classic was held once again at OC/RC Raceway in Huntington Beach California. This year we would break the two previous records for attendance with 211 entries. With over $4,000 dollars up for grabs in the Pro class, competition was at a high and the racing action was second to none.
The Track
In the 2WD Mod class, Ryan Cavalieri would edge out the competition to take overall TQ. After the gate dropped it would be an epic battle between Cavalieri, Jared Tebo, and Ryan Maifield. When the dust had settled it was Jared Tebo taking the win, Cavalieri would settle for second and Maifield would take third. Both Calalieri and Tebo were using Pro-Lines new Scrubs front and MC Suburbs. This would mark the first victory for the Scrubs tire which proved to be the front tire of choice for most.
In Mod truck, Dustin Evans would take TQ honors, but Cavalieri and Tebo would have something to say in the main. With only two minutes left on the clock Cavalieri would make the pass on Evans and secure 1st place and $500 dollars cash. Evans would settle for second while Tebo would finish third. Again Ryan and Jared reached for the Suburbs tire in MC to put them on the podium and into some cash.
6 Pack
4WD Mod has always been a class of great speed and epic battles. This was no different for this year’s Surf City Classic. TQ would go to Jareb Tebo and a field of top Pro’s right behind him. From the start of the main it was Tebo, Cavalieri and Maifield setting some serious fast laps times and following inches away from each other lap after lap. Tebo would take the overall win, Cavalieri would finish second and Hartson would make it by Maifield for third. Ryan and Jared again would choose the Suburbs in MC for their 4WD rigs.
The 3rd round of RC Pro Alberta series was held on July 30th-Aug1st by the Clutch Nuts racing club in Red Deer, AB. The full field of drivers in attendance included past National and Regional champions. Track conditions started dusty with a groove developing for the last qualifying round and the mains.
At the checked flag in Expert Truggy and Expert Buggy, it was Peter Tozser‘s Team Associated RC8B and RC8Tce that took the win in both both classes.
Peter’s rides were powered by Reedy engines, outfitted with:
1st Annual Golden State SCT Championships Race was held August 14-15, 2010 at Freedom Park in Camarillo CA. Established in 1974, the Roadrunners R/C Club has been bringing R/C racing to the Ventura County community for decades and is one of the oldest R/C clubs in the world. The track was built by Joey Christiansen and the Dirt Crew. It was a fun, flowing and challenging layout.
The Race consisted of 2wd and 4wd electric Short Course trucks and had 122 entries! The Modified 4wd SC class was one of the most popular classes and had 4 full heats of California and Nevada’s best SC drivers. Chad Bradley driving the Jammin’ SCRT-10 set the time to beat in qualifying on Saturday, TQing rounds 1 and 2 using Pro-Line’s new M3 Bow-Fighter SC tire and Desert Rat Body.
Sunday was set for the triple main events in which Chad won convincingly in the first two main events. Chad used M3 Hole Shot SC tires with Split Six wheels for the main events. Chad sat out the third and final main event having already wrapped up the Modified 4wd SC Title. Lyle Spangler TQ’d and won the ROAR Spec 2wd class driving the HPI Blitz. Lyle used M3 Hole-Shot SC in the rear and M3 Caliber SC front tires and Pro-Line’s Ford F-150 body to take the win in the ROAR Spec 2wd Class!
Congratulations Brandon on winning the Readers Rides contest for this week!
Brandon Marshall submitted a Pro-Line Ford F-150 and won!
Description: It’s a stock Team Associated SC10 that’s been topped off by a Pro-Line Ford F-150 body I custom painted myself. The headlights and grille and all the rear panel trim was painted.
I’m a little late on this one so I must apologize. Pro-Line headed out to Milestone MX Park (August 8th, 2010) for some Short Course action as Joey Christensen from the Dirt Racing had planned another great event. This was the first time we would debut the Bow-Fighter SC thread design, which proved to work very well under track conditions.
Louis Flood of Evolution Sports would TQ the stock class using the new Bow-Fighter SC. After an early lead in the main mechanical troubles would put him out of content for a podium position. The 2WD Open class would see David Orner take TQ all three rounds with Hole Shot SC front and rear; eventually he would take second due to a late crash in the main. In the 4WD class, the top three used Pro-Line Hole Shot SC all the way with Jeremy Kortz taking the win on Hole Shot SC, Chad Bradley finishing second and our very own Gerardo Gonzalez taking third.
It was another great Short Course event and Pro-Line would like to thank Joey from The Dirt and Larry Cross of Milestone for the support.
As most are aware, the ROAR Electric Nationals was spec tire for the main classes other than Short Course. Truck was won by Mayfield, tire was JC. 2WD was won by Truhe, tire was Losi. 4WD was won by Cavalieri, tire was Pro-Line Hole-Shots
In Short Course, Tim Clark and Matt Wallace had 2 drivers to work with (Travis Amezcua & Brian Kinwald). Travis was racing a new TQ SC truck that he had never driven. We stumbled a little in early practice sorting the truck and tires out, but found MX Suburbs to be the hot setup during our last practice run on the track. Qualifying went well with Travis laying down some of the fastest SC laps. This is with competition like Maifield, Pavidis, Robbers and a couple other quick guys. Travis ended up qualifying a respectable 4th with a truck we were still sorting out.
It’s been a minute, since I last raced. I’m finally done with summer school and I was able to race competitively for the first time in months. No midterms or finals to study for this week. I had a blast and can’t wait to start traveling again. There are a lot of new faces in the racing scene and Short Course is on the rise. 1/8th scale Nitro Buggy is still my favorite class. This past weekend (Aug. 7th) was Round 3 of the Monster Energy Summer Series at Revelation Raceway.
