The first round of the Austrian 1:8 E-Buggy Nationals was held on the very tricky and super bumpy track of the MBV Notsch in the very south of Austria.
Hoeco supported drivers did very well all weekend with Andreas Mayr starting on Pole after winning his semi and Rene Kargl winning the event after winning the first 2 mains with superb driving.

Personally I was struggling all weekend and only finished 6th overall.

8 out of the 12 finalists used Pro-Line rubber with 5 out of the top 6.

Final Result:

1st – Rene Kargl – Pro-Line Bow-Tie X3
2nd – Jürgen Trieb
3rd – Andreas Mayr – Pro-Line Switchblade X3
4th – Martin Kreil – Pro-Line Blockade/Lockdown X3
5th – Thomas D. – Pro-Line Blockade X3
6th – Hupo HöniglPro-Line Bow-Tie X3

thank you and best regards,
Hupo Honigl

Dominic Bauer won the 3rd round of the Austrian Nationals 1:8 Buggy with Fugitive X2, which was the tire to

go on the sugared high grip track. 8 out of 12 finalists choose Pro-Line Tires with finishing 1st and 3rd on the podium.

All Pro-Line Tires looked really good after the 45-min long Main final, while all others finished with no more pins left.

Hupo Hönigl

This year there was the first ever Austrian Nationals in 1:8 Electric Buggy.

The Series had 3 races which all 3 counted for the overall Championship.

I was able to win all 3 races – I used LockDowns in X3 or X2 on all 3 races on Velocity V2 Wheels with V2 Closed Cell Inserts.  The Trifecta Lexan Wing was mounted on all races as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Anhang 1

The 3rd Round of the EOS Series where held in Austria Wels last weekend. It was in a completely new hall which was really nice. 2WD practice started with 3 Rounds of free practice and 2 Rounds seeding practice. Hupo and I tried some different setups on our mid motor SRX2 which worked out better and better. At this track the inline battery layout worked better. Even when it was difficult with a regular Mid Motor Buggy compare to all the new “Front Motor cars, we both manage to make the A-Main (6th and 10th). A1 was going good and I had a great battle with Simon Moss the entire race and finished 3rd. A2 was another solid run with a 4th place finish. A3 I still had the chance to get a podium finish and with another new set of Tires left the chance was their. It turned out awesome with taking 2nd place to finish 3rd overall. This Championship was being held on a very small track and very difficult to drive – one small mistake would cost you a lot of time.  Elliott started the practice days off trying the new LockDown tyre and also the Diamond Back, which he found very good.  He liked the LockDown X3 compound and was able to set some of the fastest lap times in practice which he felt would be the tyre he would probably like to use going into qualifying but due to changeable weather conditions it was causing a lot of confusion with what tyres to run and at what time of day as the track would change dramatically between morning and afternoon. Last week was the 10th European Championships in Trelleborg, Sweden. The race was held inside an ice hockey arena. Where the organizers built a perfect indoor clay track. On the other side of the ice hockey field was the pit area. It was for sure on of the best events of all time. Read the rest of this entry »
