q3-teboWednesday was another great day of Qualifying for the Pro-Line team.  After Elliott dominated both Q1 and Q2, it was Jared‘s turn going to the top of the charts in Q3! Not only that, Pro-Line drivers finished 1-2-3-4 with Ty Tessmann in 2nd, Dakotah Phend in 3rd and Tomi Solonen in 4th.  That is total Pro-Line domination! Since Q3 was held in the middle of the day, most guys opted for M3 compound in Hole Shot or Electro Shot tread. Read the rest of this entry »

Elliott Won on Pro-Line X2 Fugitives

Elliott Boots has successfully defended his 1:8 Offroad European Championship title. Racing under the beating Spanish sun, the 45-minute final would take a dramatic turn with just 7-minute to go as David Ronnefalk and Robert Batlle looked set to duel it out for the win. Having just relinquished the lead to Ronnefalk, Battle would suddenly slow but before the gasping onlookers could get their breath back Ronnefalk would also come to a stop. With both drivers suffering from overheating throttle servos, it was Top Qualifier Boots who was there to pick up the pieces, the British driver having made a somewhat slow start to the race. With the demise of both Ronnefalk and Battle, the attention of the race was on who would make up the rest of the podium, former champion Yannick Aigoin as surprised as anyone to finish runner-up for Xray ahead of an equally happy Neil Cragg, the Associated driver describing it as the ‘best 45-minute final I’ve ever had’.

The Nitro Buggy Main final raised a few degrees winter temperature that reigns in Padova, Italy. Many drivers were able to win but Elliott Boots had that little bit extra. Calm, zen – call it what you like, well prepared, good company, a winning machine. His toughest opponent was his compatriot Darren Bloomfield and he is in pole position. It is important to not forget the fast Italian team with its young stars: Zanchettin, Baruffolo, Ongaro, Stocco and the French drivers as Reno Savoya, Jerome Aigoin and Jerome Sartel.

So up this weekend for us was our 4th Round of the Nitro 1:8 series, and this time we would be visiting Herts.

The weekend began early on Saturday, packing and loading the car and heading to the track for 7:30. Once at the track, we setup our pit area and finished off the car, with just Tyres left to decide one. After this was done, we took a quick walk of the track to see what lay ahead for the day. So, it was Euro’s time. This year it would be off to Italy to the Ongaroring, Sacile.

Having already done the warm up meeting earlier in the year, and taking the Win at that we headed to the event with our confidence high.

We arrived at the track, and the surface had been worked on slightly since the warm up, but we looked hoping it would progress the same way it had at that meeting.

We started practice with the car as it had been during the warm up meeting, but on hitting the track it was clear the the track was going to be a different affair to last time here. The grip level was different, with the track very slick and smooth. We used practice to test a few different setups on the car, till we finally found a good balance setup that we felt comfortable with. We aimed to have a consistent car, rather than the ultimate fastest car, as the track would reward consistency. Read the rest of this entry »
