The first round of the Austrian 1:8 E-Buggy Nationals was held on the very tricky and super bumpy track of the MBV Notsch in the very south of Austria.
Hoeco supported drivers did very well all weekend with Andreas Mayr starting on Pole after winning his semi and Rene Kargl winning the event after winning the first 2 mains with superb driving.

Personally I was struggling all weekend and only finished 6th overall.

8 out of the 12 finalists used Pro-Line rubber with 5 out of the top 6.

Final Result:

1st – Rene Kargl – Pro-Line Bow-Tie X3
2nd – Jürgen Trieb
3rd – Andreas Mayr – Pro-Line Switchblade X3
4th – Martin Kreil – Pro-Line Blockade/Lockdown X3
5th – Thomas D. – Pro-Line Blockade X3
6th – Hupo HöniglPro-Line Bow-Tie X3

thank you and best regards,

I ran the BowTies 2.0 in Nitro Buggy and Diamond Backs in E-Buggy, these both worked great for me!
Thanks to Pro-Line and O’Donnell Fuel for a great race!

Practice went great! My cars felt amazing and I was ready for qualifying. In seeding practice I ended up 9th in Nitro buggy and 6th in E-Buggy.
1st Qual:
Nitro: I was stuck behind someone for the whole race and so I had a bad run.
E-Buggy: Went ok and ended up 6th for the round. Read the rest of this entry »

The 2nd annual Lonestar Dirt Nitro Challenge at Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto, TX has grown to be one of my favorite races. The Dirt crew coupled with the Thornhill crew, you can’t ask for a better combo. Great people, amazing facility, and racing on 2 tracks. To top it all off, I get to call this place my home track.

I entered this race not expecting much results wise. I just wanted to get in some clean runs, have fun, and do the best I could. We have been plagued with a lot of much needed rain here in Austin this year. However, it has placed a serious damper on racing, and this event was no exception. Every single race I’ve attempted to attend in 2015 to this point has been rained out, with the exception of the few times I’ve run on the covered Thornhill Jr. 1:10 track. So I come into this knowing I’m going to be rusty.

Thursday is practice day, I show up later than most but get some good run time in and get my setup adjusted. The track layout is amazingly fun. I love the big jumps. On my last tank of fuel as they are closing the track down, I get my best laps in and find my setup I’ve been chasing. Car feels great going into Qual day.

Friday comes and so does the rain. We almost get 2 rounds of quals in before the rain hits. I had my first qual in and was warming up for my second round. My first qual was ok, nothing special.

I was running Pro-Line M3 Blockades and they were perfect and made the car feel perfect as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Toowomba SEQ round 2 podium

This race was held about an hour from my house at a track in Toowomba. The track was a smooth/small flowing track and had some nice technical sections.

We went up Saturday for practice as this was my first time at this track, to get a feel for Tires and compounds and to make sure my gear was on point.

We ended up trying a bunch of different treads and settled on Bow-Ties in X3 to start for the next day.

Qualyfing the next day was a little unlucky for me I had some traffic issues in Q1 and brake problems in Q2 but the car, engine (Mito 4) were all running amazingly.

The track eventually started to create a groove and we only had 2 qualifiers and straight into the finals so I had to make a decision on what Tire I would choose. It was quite a cold temperature by the time the final came around so I chose to run an X4 Blockade. Read the rest of this entry »

German Nats qualification for 1:8 Nitro Buggy. On Saturday morning free practice started. Jörn’s Pro-Line Equipped Cobra Buggy was good right from the beginning. On this track the Tire choice is really important as the track is 75% dirt and 25% turf grid. You needed medium pins for the dirt parts, but bigger pin Tires for the turf grid part.

Jörn chose Pro-Line‘s X4 Bow-Tie 2.0, which was the best choice.

In qualifying it was a close battle between Marcel Guske, Daniel Reckwardt and Jörn. Jörn qualified 2nd overall, which put him 1st into the semi B. For the 25-minute semifinal a small setup change made the car much easier to drive and Jörn was able to win his semi final by 1 lap. During the second semi it started to rain and it got heavier after. The race organizers had no other choice then to cancel the Main final and use the semi final results.

Pro-Line’s Jörn Neumann had the fastest time which gave him the overall victory.

Pro-Line products used:

X4 Bow -Tie 2.0 – 9045-034
Velocity V2 Yellow Wheels 2702-02
Pro-Line Tire Glue 6031-00
Pro-Line Fuel Stick 6271-00
Pro-Line Blue Micro Fiber Towels 6268-00
