carioca 2017

The Rio de Janeiro State Championship 2017 is over. 7 races on 3 different tracks, resulting in 5 Top Qualifies and 4 Race Victories.

Racing mostly on either Hole Shot or Blockade in X3 compound, Pro-Line provided me with the grip needed to achieve this result.

The X3 compound, even in the high track temperatures we have sometimes here in Brazil (over 50C / 120F) are holding up perfectly for our 40-minutes Main finals. Read the rest of this entry »

This summer was a little rough on racing for me. I started the outdoor season off with some club racing at the local outdoor track, but then the rains came. The track was flooded for the entire month of May. I started back up in June to get ready for the Futaba race. With my work schedule, I was unable to attend a couple of races out of town. After the Futaba race I was so busy at work that I shut my outdoor racing down. I decided that I would start back up this fall once work slowed down and I was able to get off on Saturdays again. The construction field is really busy during the summer so that limited the time I had to race.

In Buggy the best tire was The Pro-Line X2 Electro Shot. It was fast and very consistent. Read the rest of this entry »

2017 JBRL final round is over. Cannot wait for next season. Had some really good runs this season and a few struggles as well. The Final round was in Las Vegas. I have a pretty good handle on the Associated cars now and I finally got a hold of that Pro-Line Fuel Stick for this race!

Once again I would make the 5 hour drive south for the annual North vs South race held at CVR 2.0 in Madera, California.  Starting with my base setups, my cars were as close to perfect as you can get on Friday practice.  Without making any setup changes, I had a lot of confidence going in racing on Saturday.

My Tekno cars were phenomenal with the help from my Pro-Line M3 Hole Shots and Tekin electronics!   Read the rest of this entry »

The time has come for the 808 Rock Race season Finale at Pupukea that was comprised of a five race event throughout the year. This Rock Race course was broken up into four sections. The race course was sectioned off about a two mile course with two mandatory laps. First lap was counter clockwise direction with five checkpoints and he second lap was clockwise direction utilizing the same checkpoints in reverse order. Along with this two mile race course drivers also had to do two challenges anytime during the race that included a Competition Coned Course consisting of a 24 gates course and a section of rock named the “Toilet Bowl” which is a vertical climb.

Thank You Pro-Line Racing for the Support and Sponsoring this event series.

This weekend I raced down at IRCR for the Utah State Championships put on by Pro-Line. It was a two day race with Friday having open practice. Friday after work I headed down and tried to get in some practice and break in Tires. My original plan was to only run 2WD and 4WD Mod Buggy. Saturday I decided to run Mod Truck as well.

The race format was 3 rounds of qualifying with qual points being used, triple A-Mains for Mod and Expert Stock classes.

The 2017 Summer season was by far the most intense and competitive season I ever have experienced. The Northwest Championship Tour turned out its largest entry count to date, almost setting a new entry record at every round, with over 2000 entries totaling for the season. Skagit River Raceway, my local track, saw a resurgence in the 1:8 Nitro scene, and I decided to join the nitro fun as well. This would be my first season on Pro-Line Tires as well. Last Saturday I attended the Oktoberfast at RCHR.

In 17.5 Buggy I started 2nd in the B-Main and finished 3rd in the B-Main on Pro-Line Pin Points.

In 13.5 4WD Buggy I TQ’d and won on Pro-Line Pin Points as well.

Overall very solid debut on with 2 brand new cars and only my 2nd ever trophy race on turf.
