Another TERRIFIC event in the books!

Check Out more photos at 808 Rock Race Facebook Page

It was a beautiful sunny day on the west side of Oahu and the drivers showed up ready to take on the 2-mile course.  The near 50 competitors lined up and started side by side in one minute intervals.  Out of the gate they negotiated a few jumps followed by some turns and into a rock section.  After navigating the rocks, the drivers faced some soft sand hill climbs and descents that caused rigs with slower motors to struggle.  Then it’s a sprint to the far turn around point and up a steep rock hill climb.  Read the rest of this entry »

FAST RACE2017

Last weekend there was the Fastrace Challenge!!

During Saturday we were able to test some Tyres and Compounds. At the end of the day we decided to use for Sunday the Blockade X3 for the qualifications and X2 for the final phases.

I finished 4th place and at the end of the final race I close at the 2nd place!

After 45-minutes the tyres run very well allowing me to reach the first one, but not to overtake him. Constant and fast for all the race.

Thanks Pro-Line for the excellent tyres provided to me.

If you didn’t attend the Pro-Line Summer Shootout held at Southside Raceway located in Lake City you missed out on probably what will be the greatest event of the year in Florida. With an amazing 340 entries, the place was packed. The time and effort put in from #Brian Lewis, #Lance McDonald and the entire track crew really showed. It’s an outstanding facility that had a brand-new tire wash area, air station to blow off cars and a new staging area. The track itself had many features including the Cabbage Patch and brick sections. It had a couple step ups/ step downs, huge double, triple and the largest off camber around. It was challenging and it made you think about your tire choice which to us is all part of racing.

We tested Pro-Line Hole Shots, Fugitive Lites and ElectroShots during practice on Friday. Read the rest of this entry »

This past weekend we attended the first ever Amain Manufacturers World Cup held at the famous Silver Dollar Raceway in Chico, CA.  The race for the Pro Class was a Reedy Race format, there were four 14 minute heads up races for each of the three pro classes with 1 throw out in each class.  There was also a team challenge where they took the 2 top finishers in the pro class and the 2 top finishers in the open class for each manufacturer and combined them to determine the winning manufacturer.

The track was high speed with a lot of big air jumps which made for some good racing and it was a lot of fun to drive on.

Ty Ran Pro-Line Hole Shot X3 Hole Shots to victory! Read the rest of this entry »

This weekend I drove down to Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet for RD2 of the Midwest 1:8 Tour! Upon arrival the track was already extremely gnarly from the previous week of open practice. Nonetheless it made for some challenging but awesome racing!

I’m extremely happy with my equipment right now, Tekno .4 Cars, the new BLOK engines, Orion electronics, Bk Servos and Pro-Line Fugitive Lites keeping it locked in! Read the rest of this entry »

This past weekend I attend the Manufacturers Cup at Amain’s Silver Dollar raceway.

I raced Pro Nitro Buggy, Pro Nitro Truggy, and Pro E-Buggy. I ran Pro-Line M3 Hole Shots in the morning and X3 Hole Shots in the heat of the day. The layout was a Reedy Race format for the Pro classes.

That means that every race is a Main, there were 4 Mains for each car, Nitro Mains were 14-minutes and E-Buggy was 9-minutes. Read the rest of this entry »

This Last weekend I attended the annual Memorial Day Shootout held at CVR Raceway in Madera California.  I arrived at the track late Friday evening for some practice before we would get into qualifying/racing on Saturday.  I was only running pro nitro buggy so that meant I could focus more on setup rather than track time.  I ended up only making a couple changes to my car before I felt super comfortable with it going into Saturday morning.

Even with the dry track conditions, my M3 Hole Shots were dialed… Read the rest of this entry »

I am getting the ultimate test in time management as I attempt to juggle a loaded RC racing schedule with summer school for the MBA program in addition to my full-time job. So far it has been going fairly well with podium finishes at both races.

In order to attend Zoo City’s trophy race I had to stay up until 1am Friday night studying while my wife, Miranda handled the packing and pre-race responsibilities. Miranda and I got creative while I towed the trailer to the track I also dictated my homework answers to her and she typed them up.  So definitely a team effort, that allowed me to attend and participate at Zoo City’s trophy race this past Saturday.

I decided to run three of the four classes offered so the hectic schedule continued through the race day.  I finished 1st with my Pro-Line PRO-2 SC Truck in 2WD SCT, 2nd in 4WD SCT and 5th with XRAY XB8E in E-Buggy.

I ran Pro-Line SwitchBlades, Calibers, and Flo-Tek Fusion Read the rest of this entry »
