I went to Auburn Performance Raceway this past weekend and ran the Triple Crown Series Race (1st of 3). There were 11 or 12 total Outlaw Mod Sprint Cars. 6 cars qualified to the A-Main. I qualified 4th. The Main was very tough! Lots of fast guys, I knew my only shot was to stay consistent and make no mistakes. The first few laps I paced with the top 3 guys and luck went my way! We were doing 4-5 seconds lap times so we caught lap traffic by the 2nd or 3rd lap, lol. That’s when it got real interesting. Long story short, I was the only car that was able to finish the race with zero wrecks/mistakes! I ran a flawless race, and was able to lap the whole field. I was very proud of myself. I was able to take the win. This was only my 2nd race in dirt oval after being out of it for 4+ years. Nice to know I still got it!

Mod Sprint Car : I ran Pro-Line Positrons in the Rear and Transistors in the Front
SC mod : I ran Pro-Line Suburbs Front and Rear.

Roar-2-podium

I headed to Mushroom Bowl RC this past Saturday for the Roar Region 2 Off Road Series race #4.  Both HB Racing Buggy’s felt great on the dry and later rain softened layout.  After 3 rounds of qualifying I would start 4th on the grid in E-Buggy and 7th in Nitro Buggy.  The E-Buggy Main was the most fun I’ve had on the track in a long time going back and forth with Tyler Cook of Xray.  Nitro Buggy didn’t fair so well on the wet track and an early flame-out took me out of the race.

Throughout qualifying X3 Fugitive Lites were hooked up on the dry track, however, after the rain I switched to M4 Blockades for the Mains.   Read the rest of this entry »

The R/C Racers of Edmonton hosted the Oil City Dash. The event had a full day of practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday, and main events on Sunday.

Adam Drake was on hand to help with setup and tuning questions throughout the event. Drake was the top qualifier in nitro 1/8th buggy. Drake won the 45-minute Buggy final followed by Cory Drachenberg and Pete Tozzer.

This last weekend I race at the Colombian National Championship being able to enter the a main after a lot of issues during the weekend. But on the Final I lead from the minute 6 to 25 approx until a mechanical issue, I was able to fix it and re-enter the race where I need to start going again from the back, but on the minute 40 to 45 I take the lead and put the work in to finish 1st, to give XRay and Pro-Line the first Colombian Nats after a lot of TQ’s.

Thank you for all your support I run X3 LockDowns they where the best tire for the long Main.

This weekend I was able to continue the back to back weekends by making the 3 hour drive to LRT Raceway in Iowa for the Firecracker 40. I was really pumped for this one as it would be the first time running a main longer than 30-minutes! Shout out to Danny and his dad for the dialed facility!

As for qualifying I would have solid runs and after the two rounds I would TQ both E-Buggy and Pro Nitro Buggy! E-Buggy would go great and I would be able to win by about 2 laps!

INS2017Podium

This past weekend I attended the J Concepts Indoor National Series race held at Hobby Action RC in Chandler, AZ. The temperatures outside were hovering around 115 degrees but inside with the air conditioning it was comfortable.

We arrived at the track on Thursday for practice and the first impression was that the layout didn’t look very challenging, but when I ran on it the first time I was pleasantly surprised that it was much more challenging than I had thought and it was hard to get clean laps consistently for 5-minutes, which in my opinion was a good thing, I prefer to run on a challenging track rather than one that is too easy.
