Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions
Can I purchase products directly from Pro-Line?

There are several ways to order Pro-Line products. First, you can visit the shop locator on our website to find a hobby shop in your area. Generally, if a hobby shop does not have an item available they can order it for you specifically.

As a new service to our customers, we are now selling Pro-Line products directly from our website. If you would like to place an order simply click add to cart on any product to begin your shopping experience.

If you need any assistance, you can talk to a real person Monday-Friday 8a-5p (PST) by calling toll free 1-800-899-RACE (7223) or e-mail us at customerservice@prolineracing.com

Can you lower my Invoice Amount? (International Orders)
We cannot list any amount other than the actual amount paid by you on invoices or customs forms. Please do not ask us to list a lower amount, or list your order as a 'gift', as this would be illegal for us to do.
Should I glue my tires to the wheels?
We definitely recommend gluing the tires onto the wheels. Our Pro-Line New Formula Premium Blend CA Glue (Part# 6005-01 Thin, 6005-02 Medium & 6006-01 Thick). It is specially formulated for mounting tires.

Should I put a hole in my wheels to vent the tire?
We definitely recommend putting holes in your wheels to vent the tire. Many of our wheel designs are currently offered with pre-drilled holes.

Should I put ventholes in my tire?
We recommend venting your tire to allow trapped dirt or moisture to escape during acceleration. This can be done by using scissors to cut a small diamond shape section out of the carcass or by using a leather punch. Two holes...one at opposite ends of the tire

Will your bodies fit my chassis?
Due to the variances of shock tower positions and body mount locations; it is very difficult to say whether our existing bodies will successfully mount onto your chassis. With the correct mounting procedure and cutouts you may be able to get them to fit. However, because we cannot give you a definite answer our suggestion would be to take your chassis to your local hobby shop and test fit the body prior to purchase just to make sure that there wouldn’t be something that would stop you inevitably.

Is it possible to purchase the featured decals / window templates for any of Pro-Line/PROTOform bodies?
Yes we are more than happy to sell any decal sheet directly for $2.00 a sheet + Shipping+ Tax (where applicable). If you would like to place an order please feel free to contact customer service at customerservice@pro-lineracing.com

Do you make any kits that include the complete car?
No we do not currently manufacture the entire kit. We do however manufacture the bodies (the outside shell), wheels, and tires for many different types of kits.

How can I get sponsored by Pro-Line/PROTOform?

Tire Questions
What is the difference between M2 and M3 compound?
a. M3 is the much softer compound of the two and is used when more traction is desired. The M2 will give you better tread life but less traction.
b. This is similar to the 1:8 XTR and M2 tires. The M2 is the softer of the two and will give you better traction. The XTR is more firm and will give you longer tread life. The M3 is the softest and would be used when maximum traction is needed.

What is the best tire to use when you’re only running on asphalt or concrete?

What is included on the decal sheets that come with the Pro-Line bodies?

Refer to our Body Painting and Trimming Tips portion of our website. You may also want to check out our new Painting How-To Videos.

How do I mount my body?
Mounting bodies can be quite tricky. But we have found that the easiest way to mount a body with no premarked holes is to first set the body on the vehicle, and draw with a marker or compass where you want the holes to be on the outside of the body. After you paint it you can easily cut the holes in where you have marked.

Is it possible to have a body custom made?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer this option. However, we appreciate your feedback and will take your suggestions into consideration for future product ideas.

Can I purchase older discontinued bodies from Pro-Line?
Unfortunately, when an item is discontinued there is no stock remaining and it is no longer available. Our best recommendation is to check with your local hobby retailers or on the internet to locate these items.

Does Pro-Line offer any painting services?
Unfortunately, we do not offer any type of painting services at this time. However here are some useful links and contact information for professional custom body painters that do excellent work.
